"Lucy Turner is beguiling as Ariadne. There is a power in her self-assurance. Theseus easily falls into her trap, only to betray her when he no longer needs her. Ms. Turner dominates her scenes, even when she is fully defeated and confronted by Baccus (played by Justin Senense)."

What I've Been Up To...
'The Ladder' by Isaac Byrne
I just finished a run at the off-Broadway IRT Theatre for a run of Isaac Byrne's 'The Ladder', a dark comedy retelling of the myth of Theseus & the minotaur. I had the most fun as the princess Ariadne, soft and feminine who evolves into monstrous feminine rage. Check out pictures and what what reviewers had to say in my gallery section of this site.

"Lucy Turner’s Ariadne is a quiet triumph. Her Bacchic transformation under Dionysus’s influence is played with specificity and release, drunk on the healing power of revenge, and it’s deeply satisfying to watch the character stop shrinking herself to fit someone else’s hero narrative. HELLO!
I’m an NYC-based actor with classical training and a love for both new work and the classics. I’ve studied movement, speech, dialects, and clowning, which has allowed me to move easily between comedy and drama—whether it’s a sharp, confident woman holding it all together or a delightfully chaotic blonde barely doing the same. More than anything, I love stories that feel alive, cinematic, and just a little unpredictable.
